Health Tips for A Better Life Experience
Health - What does that word mean to you? At A Better Life Experience, health is the way you live your life, the way you perceive the world around you, and the way you respond to it. Health is measured on a continuum. We all fluctuate somewhere between flourishing health and a lousy state of health. Where you are on that continuum is your responsibility. Perhaps you made poor choices in the past, or your parents made poor choices for you. The bottom line is that today, right now, the choices are yours, and YES, you DO have choices. There are no “have tos” in life. There are choices, actions, and consequences - causes and effects. Part of the mission of ABLE Chiropractic, A Better life Experience, is to empower people to make better choices for themselves, their families, and the world around them.
- › Think GOOD thoughts
- › Have your subluxations corrected regularly by your family chiropractor
- › Eat all natural food - grown without pesticides, herbicides, hormones, or genetic modifications
- › Avoid artificial sweeteners! Why would you consume anything artificial? Your body is your temple!
- › Avoid trans fats. Hydrogenated oils are trans fats. Fractionated and Hydrolyzed oils are sometimes hydrogenated. Even when the package says “0 grams of trans fats per serving” read the back and look for the words above. If they are listed in the ingredients, the front disclaimer is a loophole and there is slightly less than one gram of trans fat in each serving. Whole Foods has a store policy of no hydrogenated fats.
- › Enjoy your food - eat slowly - chew - eat with people you enjoy or enjoy eating alone
- › Learn to like YOU and be able to enjoy time alone
- › Spend time with people you enjoy who enrich your life
- › Avoid spending time with people who you don’t enjoy
- › Strive to find win-win ways to settle conflicts
- › Move your body - walk the dog, dance, run, play, exercise
- › Watch less television
- › Find a type of yoga that you enjoy, and do it
- › Spend less time on the cell phone - use the speaker option whenever possible
- › If you choose drugs, vaccinations, or surgery, make sure you investigate your options and know what the disclosed risks are.
- › Forget about "what if" and focus on what is. Do not create problems in your mind that don’t even exist. So many people spend their energy worrying about problems that aren’t even real.
- › Genetics are not the answer to, or excuse for, all health issues Your genes do not necessarily determine your fate. Read research on www.brucelipton.com
- › Know that only you can heal you. The wisdom inside your body (innate intelligence) knows how to heal you. You just need to make sure the messages can get from the brain to the cells (have subluxations corrected) and feed your body the right building blocks to build healthy new cells.
- › If you are going to take vitamins and supplements, take good ones, not cheap, useless ones Realize that we are all different, and the same supplements are not appropriate for everyone.
From the mind of Charles Schultz.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do? Few of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with
Was that easier? The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia" --Charles Schultz
